Prof. Rehab Farouk Abdel-Kader is a respected academic and researcher known for her work in artificial intelligence, image processing, and big data. She earned her Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from Auburn University, USA, and has more than 20 years of international teaching and research experience. She began her academic career as an Assistant Professor at Georgia Southern University. Currently, Dr. Abdel-Kader is a Professor of Image Processing and Artificial Intelligence at Port Said University, where she also serves as the Vice Dean of Graduate Studies. In addition, she teaches part-time at the British University in Egypt, teaching senior-level courses and supervising graduation projects. Dr. Abdel-Kader has made significant contributions to AI and machine learning as a Principal Investigator (PI) on several major research projects, including the development of a multi-sensor AI system for pavement distress detection and a real-time water management system, both funded by Egypt's Science & Technology Development Fund (STDF). Her innovative research has driven advancements in infrastructure monitoring and resource management, effectively addressing real-world challenges. An active participant in professional activities, Dr. Abdel-Kader serves as an Arbitrator in the Certified Egyptian National Committee for the Promotion of Faculty Members with the Egyptian Supreme Council of Universities and as a member of the Evaluation Committee for Engineering and Technological Institutes. She is also a reviewer for numerous prestigious journals, such as IEEE Access and IET Image Processing, and holds editorial board positions in several distinguished publications. As a prolific scholar, Dr. Abdel-Kader has published extensively in leading journals, presented at international conferences, and edited influential volumes in her field. Her academic leadership extends beyond research, encompassing active roles in conference organization, journal editorial boards, and program accreditation. As an educator, she has taught many undergraduate and graduate-level computer engineering courses in both the U.S. and Egypt, mentoring countless Ph. D and M.Sc. students.
