Biography

Dr. Yara Abdelaty is a Lecturer of Curriculum, Instruction, and Educational Technology at Port Said University, Egypt. She holds a PhD in Applied Linguistics from the University of York, UK, with expertise in computer-assisted language learning, peer feedback, L2 writing, TESOL, AI in language education, and educational technology. She is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, UK, and holds a CELTA qualification from the University of Cambridge. Her teaching and research focus on TESOL, digital pedagogy, feedback, curriculum design, and teacher training. Dr. Abdelaty has taught and supervised students in Egypt and the UK. She is also an active member of the Online Teaching and Learning Lab, PIVOTAL, the Pedagogical Innovation in Virtual and Online Teaching and Learning lab, associated with the University of York. Her research has been published leading international peer-reviewed journal  such as System , and she has also been invited as a keynote speaker for international academic workshops and research events hosted by institutions and organizations in different countries, such as the UK, Pakistan, the Kurdistan Region, and Morocco.

Lecturer in of Curriculum, Instruction, and Educational Technology at Faculty of Education, Port Said University. My academic and professional experience includes teaching English language courses, academic writing, applied linguistics, TESOL, CALL, L2 writing, peer feedback, assessment, and AI-supported writing feedback. I have experience in curriculum design, materials development, student supervision, and research in technology-enhanced language learning.
