Dr. Asmaa is an Assistant Professor in the Mechanical Power Engineering Department at the Faculty of Engineering, Port Said University, Egypt. She earned her PhD in Renewable Energy from the Environment and Sustainability Institute, College of Engineering, Mathematics, and Physical Sciences at the University of Exeter, UK (2018-2021), as a Newton-Mosharafa Fund scholar. Her research on concentrating photovoltaics has been widely published in high-impact journals and presented at numerous conferences. Dr. Asmaa graduated with first-class honours from Port Said University in 2010 and swiftly advanced through various academic roles. In 2011, she was offered a tenure track position at the same university. After obtaining her MSc in 2016, she was promoted to research and teaching assistant. In 2018, she served as a research fellow in the Energy Department at Polytechnic di Torino, Italy, before pursuing her PhD in the UK. Also, Dr. Asmaa is actively involved in several initiatives at Port Said University, including the Research Platform on Green Transformation and Sustainable Development (since September 2023), the Energy Research and Studies Centre (since February 2023), the Technology Innovation Commercialization Office (TICO) (since December 2022), and the Ranking Committee (since November 2022). Additionally, she has been volunteering as an Academic Mentor at EgyptScholars Inc. since October 2022 and serves as on of the Editors of the "Engineering Solutions Toward Sustainable Development" book. Also, she serves as a reviewer in several international scientific journals. In addition, she was one of the organizers of the first International Conference on Engineering Solutions Toward Sustainable Development in 2023 and the Blue Economy Conference in 2024. She continues to work on international grants and contribute to the advancement of renewable energy. Her research interests encompass Renewable Energy, Solar Energy, Concentrated Solar Technologies, Photovoltaics, Energy Engineering, Desalination, Thermal Process Engineering, and Heat Transfer.
