Biography

Mohamed Bassyouni is currently the vice president of  East Port Said University of Technology. He is professor of Chemical Engineering at Port Said University. He served as the Director of Energy Research and Studies Center at Port Said University. He is the Co-Founder & Chairman of Center of Excellence for Membrane Testing and Characterization (CEMTC). He is the coordinator of Port Said University Ranking Committee. He has served as the Natural Gas Engineering Program coordinator since 2019. From 2010 to 2017, he served as the head of Chemical and Materials Engineering Department at King Abdulaziz University. He also served as the director of industrial training unit. He is adjunct professor at Zewail City of Science & Technology and British University in Egypt. He has completed the postdoctoral at TU-Clausthal, Germany in polymer processing. He received the Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering, Cairo University. He is a guest editor in Polymers Journal and Frontiers in Sustainability journal. He is a member of editorial board of International Institute of Chemical, Biological and Environmental Engineering and the journal of Engineering-Port Said University. He has experience in polymer composites and their applications with emphasis on nanocomposites, bio-composites, using recyclable materials in favor of environmental sustainability and water treatment. He is the author of several articles published in international journals and conferences. He is the co-author of three books in the area of polymers and petroleum engineering: He serves as a reviewer for several reputable journals. He has been listed in Stanford University World's Top 2% Scientists in 2021 and 2022. He has received award of Scientific Creativity in the field of materials science and its applications from Academic of Scientific Research and Technology in 2014. He has received awards for Distinguished Scientific Contributions (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022). He received the award of the Federation of Arab Scientific Research Councils in the field of water harvesting in 2020. He received the award of high citations from Port Said University in 2022. He is a member of the Industry Technology Research Council, Ministry of Scientific Research, Egypt. He is a member of the National Committee for New and Advanced Materials, Ministry of Scientific Research. He is a member of the Permanent Scientific Committee for the Promotion of Professors and Assistant Professors No. (122) – Supreme Council of Universities. He is a member of the National Authority for Quality Assurance and
