Biography

Dr. Mahmoud Mohamed Bendary is the Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Port-Said University, where he also serves as Head of the Microbiology and Immunology Department. He earned his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences (Microbiology & Immunology) from Suez Canal University in 2016.

Dr. Bendary’s career spans academia, research, and clinical practice, with prior roles as a hospital pharmacist, lecturer, and associate professor. His research focuses on bacterial evolution, antimicrobial resistance, molecular microbiology, and innovative nanotherapy approaches for infectious diseases. He has published extensively in high-impact journals, contributed over 2000 gene sequences to GenBank (with 20 novel mutations recorded in his name), and serves as a reviewer and editorial board member for multiple international journals.

Recognized with the University Encouragement Award in 2023, Dr. Bendary has also led several academic quality and strategy initiatives. His scholarly work has earned him an H-index of 22 on Google Scholar, reflecting his significant contributions to the fields of microbiology and immunology
