Prof. Sherif M. Abuelenin received his B.Sc. in Electronics and Communications from Suez Canal University, Egypt, in 1999, his M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Tuskegee University in 2002, and his Ph.D. from Auburn University in 2005. He has held faculty positions at Tuskegee University (USA), Sinai University (Egypt), and Port Said University (Egypt), where he is currently a Professor of Communications Engineering. His research interests include signal processing, wireless communications, and applications of artificial intelligence. He is an active reviewer for leading academic journals and international conferences. He is an alumnus of the UK Royal Academy of Engineering Leaders-in-Innovation (LIF Global-2023) Fellowship, UK and a recipient of the 2021 Soliman Abdel-Hay Award in Transportation and Communications, awarded by the Egyptian Academy for Scientific Research and Technology.
Professor of Communications Engineering at Port Said University with 20+ years of experience in teaching, research, and academic leadership. My research spans signal processing, wireless communications, intelligent transportation systems, and artificial intelligence. Have held faculty positions at Tuskegee University (USA), Sinai University (Egypt), and Port Said University (Egypt), and served as Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Port Said University (2021–2024).
I am a Leader-in-Innovation (LIF Global 2023) alumnus of the Royal Academy of Engineering (UK) and an alumnus of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM, USA) Arab–American Frontiers Program. My contributions to transportation and communication research earned me the 2021 Soliman Abdel-Hay Award from the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT). I have served as a reviewer for leading IEEE journals, international conferences, and major funding agencies including NSF (USA) and ITIDA (Egypt).
Passionate about research, innovation, academic leadership, and mentoring the next generation of engineers and data scientists. My work focuses on advanced communication systems and AI applications, with a goal of bridging academic research with real-world impact. I welcome collaboration in wireless systems, AI-driven solutions, and interdisciplinary engineering projects.
